| Fraser to Reprise Mummy Role - ComingSoon.net In sequels nobody asked for news, Brendan Fraser is set to reprise his role in a 3rd "Mummy" movie. Sounds like the writer and director will not be the original Stephen Sommers either. Here's what sounded weird to me though: The site says that the project will be a reimagining of the first two films, so we'll have to see whether Rachel Weisz, John Hannah, Arnold Vosloo or Oded Fehr will be back as well. What does a "reimagining" mean? I'm guessing something along the lines of a T3 Arnold with no Linda Hamilton or James Cameron; or a Die Hard 4 with no Bonnie Bedalia; or a Dukes of Hazzard movie with Daisy played by Jessica Simpson. Oh, now I get it. "Reimagining" means this movie will be crap. At least they're being up front about it... |

Oi, indeed. As much as I enjoyed the first 2 Mummy movies as Saturday afternoon cable fare, a 3rd 'reimagined' movie without most of the original cast or writer/director seems unnecessary. Fraser has the talent for better, but I guess everyone needs a paycheque...
