He Can Sing, But Can He Act...Like a Singer?

Well, look at that. Toby Keith is now going to try to be a movie star. He’s even got a movie coming out called Broken Bridges. He plays a country music singer who deals with some...stuff, and tries to get his new found daughter a singing career. Or something like that. I watched the trailer, and it’s up there on the cringe worthy scale. I have to wonder how this got green lit for a theatrical release instead of a Hallmark movie of the week...

Still, it's got Willie Nelson and Burt Reynolds in it, so this should be "Gold, Jerry, Gold!!" :)

This seems to be a common occurence now. When I first saw the trailer for "Flicka" I remember thinking that the guy looked familiar. Only during the credits did I realize that it was Tim McGraw. I'm not a fan of cross overs but hey, if you need a cowboy - it's not such a bad idea...

Original LRU:
"How do you like him now!!"

Uh...about the same :) This flick will probably come and go without much of an impact, I'm guessing.

You got a point - if you need a cowboy, get a cowboy. But can they act? I thought McGraw looked a bit wooden but showed promise in the Flicka trailer, but that was some fine acting compared to Toby "Block of Oak" Keith in the Bridges trailer.

I'm not knocking singers as actors, mind you, as this is coming from a fan of the movie Pure Country. But even in a role written specifically for them, they still have to act the part.

hahaha - that was a good episode. Can always count on Due South for a quote...

"Well, it's a dry cold."
