This 'N That...
| Not a lot of inspiration on what to blog about these days, but let's see here... The Indiana Jones trailer was excellent. Ford looks older, of course, but he's still got it. Shia Labouef kinda looks out of place, but the rest of it looks great. Good action, fun set pieces, and wry one lines. With this, Dark Knight, and Iron Man, it gives me hope this movie year will be better than last year. Gotta make a trip to the local Blockbuster. I still haven't seen Gone Baby Gone, We Own The Night, 3:10 to Yuma, or even Shoot 'Em Up. And now American Gangster is coming out this week too. If only I could watch movies at work. And I think I read somewhere on the net that Polaroid technology is going the way of the dodo. No more "Snap!" and then "TaDa!". Guess everyone is going digital. Still, Polaroid instant developing was way cool. Ah, for the good ol' days... |

post a comment3:10 to Yuma will make its way into my video library at some point. It's dark in tone, well acted, with a solid story. Crow and Bale, and everyone else, are totally believable.
Shoot 'Em Up is tongue-in-cheek, slick, full of dark humor; ya gotta watch it knowing that no one in the film is taking it quite as seriously as they seem. Imagine the actors giving the audience a slight nod and a sly wink, as if to say, "You're in on the joke, right?" (And who doesn't enjoy watching Paul Giamatti bring a character to life? His death-dealing is all in a day's work, along with phone calls back home to his wife, concerning a birthday party. Funny.)
Definitely hope to get a movie night worked in here soon, after a couple wacky work shifts and stuff. Shoot'Em Up has to be tongue in cheek - I mean a hitman with a Bugs Bunny carrot fascination? Classic, can't wait to see it.
I've almost lost track of everything I need to see before the Oscars but right at the top of the list for sometime this week is "La Vie En Rose". I think everything else will just have to wait.
Yes, there's a lot to watch lately. Between the new stuff, Oscar stuff, and all the old movies I want to watch, my list is getting rather long.
