Goodbye, Turin

Well, it’s over. They’ve snuffed the flame, partied like its 1999, and handed off the winter Olympic torch to Vancouver for 2010. A decent games, I suppose. Canada did really well with 24 total medals, finishing 3rd behind Germany and the U.S.

The big disappointment was not even getting a medal in the men’s hockey. What a lackluster performance by those guys. You’d have thought they sent the Toronto Maple Leafs over there to play. May as well have, with Quinn behind the bench.

The women won gold for out national sport, so kudos to them. Not to mention Cindy Klassen wracking up the medal count single-handedly.

Anyways, it over now, so the NHL can finally return for the playoff push. (If you’re Ottawa, though, you can’t be happy about the Olympics. Thanks for nothing.) And NBC can get back to their regularly scheduled, last place ratings, programming…

Yeah, a lot of what ifs...still, I think the group of guys should have been good, but they didn't seem to play with any motivation, and for that, I look at the coach.
