Another Trailer Online

Trailer For De Niro's Good Shepherd

Two nights in a row I come home from work to find a new trailer has hit the net. Cinema Blend has a link to the trailer for the upcoming December movie, The Good Shepherd. It's about the birth of the CIA and looks pretty good. It stars Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, and Robert DeNiro among others.

Joe Pesci also is in there, and as Cinema Blend pointed out, looks incredibly old. I almost didn't recognize Leo Getz...

As long as this doesn't venture into The Talented Mr. Ripley territory (oh that was an awful flick), I'll want to see it. It should be good if you got DeNiro and Jolie in there as well.

You can follow the link above for the story and trailer, or download the trailer here. I don't think its QT7, but I could be wrong...

I'll have to check the trailer out when I get home (sound is always important) but I have heard talk over the last few months of Joe Pesci and how he's been in hiding for years. I really like him and can't wait to see him on the big screen again, even if he does look old. As for the movie itself - it should be a good one. I'm sure there are some great stories surrounding the formation of the CIA. On a side note, I really enjoyed The Talented Mr. Rippley. It's not the best I've seen but I enjoyed it.

The thing with Ripley was that it just wouldn't end. A friend and I went to see it, and we could barely make it to the end. "oh that's gotta be it...nope, he's gotta kill another person...ok, that's it right? nope, gotta kill somebody else..." It wasn't in Lord of the Rings (which I liked) territory for false endings, but it was up there. [That was a great line near the end of Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang where he's talking to the camera and says something like "I saw Lord of the Rings - I'm not going to do 57 endings"] Ripley started with promise, but deteriorated pretty quick. Just my opinion though.

That's the great thing about movies - it's all subjective :)

You're so right. Subjective it is.

Dammit! I think I'm going to have to rent Kiss Kiss Bang Bang again. I started it but had to take it back before I got half way through. Darn! I'll have to pick it up this week.

Do rent Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. It's a heck of a good - and fun - movie. If you like that type of movie, check out The Ice Harvest with John Cusack too. Both movies were faves of mine from the end of last year...
